A father and his daughter were killed when a truck loaded with cement lost control and crashed into a house on the Dhaka-Pabna highway in Sathia, Pabna. The tragic incident took place around 10 pm on Friday near the bridge under construction at Sharisha Vitapara in the upazila. The deceased were identified as Shah Babu, 40, and his daughter Brishti Khatun, 11, of the upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Santhia police station said that a ten-wheeler truck (Dhaka Metro Ta-184532) loaded with 700/800 bags of cement was heading towards Shirajganj. On the way, the truck lost control on the side of the road near the bridge under construction at Sarisha Vitapara on the Dhaka-Pabna highway and crashed into a dwelling house.
The father and the daughter died instantly. At that time, the people of the house were having their meal. Other members of the house ran away to save their lives. The truck and the bodies were handed over to the highway police.
SI Arafat of Madhpur Highway police said that a case has been filed with the Highway Police Station in this regard. The bodies will be handed over to relatives after autopsy.
