Farzana Chumki, the favorite face of stage lovers, is returning to the stage after a gap of one year with a play directed by Shahiduzzaman Selim. Chumki will return to the stage with the play ‘Ekti Loukik Othoba Aloukik Steamer’ written by Anan Zaman, a teacher at Jahangir Nagar University and directed by Shahiduzzaman Selim.
Chumki said she is already taking part in the rehearsal of the online drama. However, when the play will be staged has not been finalized yet because the online rehearsal is going well. But there is no opportunity to perform this drama on the stage until the situation in Corona becomes normal.
Farzana Chumki said, “This is the first time I am acting in a stage play under the direction of Selim Bhai. Since Selim Bhai is a talented actor, he explains very well what to do to enhance the character while acting. In that case, this stage play is very beneficial for me or those who are acting like me. The play will be staged from the theater troupe ‘Dhaka Theater’.”
Meanwhile, Gias Uddin Selim came into the limelight as a filmmaker by making the movie ‘Monpura’. ‘Monpura’ was a great business success. However, Selim-directed ‘Swapnajal’ was not a commercial success. Earlier, Chumki had acted in the play ‘Enechi Surjer Hashi’ under the direction of Selim. This is the first time Chumki has acted in a movie.
Regarding her acting career, Chumki said, “When my elder sister Neelu came to the media it was an inspiration for me. That’s why I became today’s Farzana Chumki. That is why I am always grateful to her.”
