Former Moulvibazar Superintendent of Police Farooq Ahmed has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police of Cumilla.
The directive was issued in a circular signed by Dhananjay Kumar Das, Deputy Secretary of Police-1 Branch under Public Security Department of the Home Ministry, on December 9 under the directives of the President.
Meanwhile, former Superintendent of Police in Cumilla Syed Nurul Islam left office on Thursday. A farewell reception was organized for him at Cumilla Police Lines ground on Wednesday night.
The parting SP confirmed that the new SP Farooq Ahmed will join office as the 23rd Superintendent of Police in Cumilla on Friday morning.
Farooq Ahmed joined the police force as an ASP through 22nd BCS in 2003. On July 1 in 2019, he joined the post of Superintendent of Police in Moulvibazar.
