Farmers receive fertilisers, seeds

Free fertilizers and seeds have been distributed among 365 small and marginal farmers as a stimulus program amid corona crisis to increase the production of Oush paddy at the initiative of the Department of Agricultural Extension in Keshabpur Upazila of Jashore on Wednesday.

Keshabpur upazila chairman Freedom Fighter Quazi Rafiqul Islam inaugurated the free fertilizers and seeds distribution programme as the chief guest while Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nusrat Jahan presided over it in front of upazila parishad.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Agrculturist Mahadev Chandra Sana and Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Monir Hossain spoke at the time. At the time each farmer received 5 kg Oush seeds, 20 kg DMP fertilizers and 10 kg MOP fertilizers per Bighas of land.

Meanwhile Keshabpur Upazila administration of Jashore has launched a fish, meat and vegetable market at Keshabpur Government Degree College grounds maintaining social distance amid corona virus spread.

Every day from 6am to 11am, the market will remain opem. Upazila Executive Officer Nusrat Jahan presided over the inauguration of the market while Upazila Chairman Freedom Fighter Quazi Rafiqul Islam attended the programme as chief guest on Wednesday morning.
