Lifestyle of the country’s farmers is being developed day by day as production of crops has increased a lot in the country. Agriculture minister Dr Abdur Razzak came up with the observation while addressing the 5th founding anniversary programme of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) at its auditorium in Motijheel in the capital on Sunday.
The minister has also unveiled a mural of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at BADC bhaban. The minister said, “The success story of the country’s agriculture is being appreciated worldwide now and this success was achieved through providing incentives in various sectors including agricultural machinery, seeds etc.”
Now the challenge is ensuring nutrition nutritionally for the safe food, he said, adding that the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is providing fertiliser at a nominal price to the farmers. Abdur Razzaque also said the government is determined to maintain zero tolerance against corruption. “So, everyone has to come under accountability. BADC will also have to establish accountability,” he added.
Among others, member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Agriculture Abdul Mannan, secretary to Agriculture Ministry Md Nasiruzzaman, former Agriculture Secretary DS Nazmul Islam, and BADC Chairman Md Sayedul Islam were also present, in the programme.
