A farmer was beaten to death by his opponent in Raimanik village under Sadar Upazila of Jashore district on Saturday morning. He died while undergoing treatment in the hospital's surgery ward.
The deceased was identified as Netai Pal (53) son of Haripado Pal of Raimanik village of the Sadar upazila. The victim's wife, Jayeti Rani, said her husband, Netai Pal was cutting a lemon tree on Friday afternoon near the house.
At that time, Ganesh Pal, Ashik Pal , Pradeep Pal Joydev pal attacked him with Iron rod. We rescued him and admitted to Jashore General Hospital in critical condition around 5 pm. He died while undergoing treatment on Saturday morning. The hospital doctor Ibnul Emon said the man died at around 12 pm while undergoing treatment.
Jashore Kotwali police station OC Md Moniruzzaman said the matter was being investigated. Legal action will be taken in this regard. The body has been kept at Jashore General Hospital morgue for autopsy. District Intelligence Branch (DIB) SI Mahfuzur Rahman said Ganesh and Sanjoy pal were arrested for the involvement in the incident.
