The National Film award giving ceremony was held at the Bangbandhu International Conference (BICC) in the city on Tuesday evening.
Faridur Reza sagar, renowned writer and Ekushey award winning media personality, was awarded the best story teller award for the movie “Damal”. He received the award from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The film is made from the history of the Swadhin Bangla Football Team during the War of Liberation of Bangladesh in 1971. Raihan Rafi produced the film.
He produced about two hundred films under the banner of Impress Telefilm Limited in last two decades. These films achieved best national film awards many times. Faridur Reza Sagar achieved best award for director ten times. His best film was Kitton Khola(2000), Daruchini Dwip (2007), Gohine Shobdo (2010), Guerilla (2011), Uttarer Sur (2012), Mrittika Maya (2013), Agatnama (2016), Razadhiraz Razzak (2018), Fagun Hawa ( 2019) and Gor (2020).
