Ekushey Padak and National Film Award-winning folk singer Farida Parveen has returned home after recovering from coronavirus. She was discharged from the hospital as she did not have any COVID symptoms after all the tests.
Besides Covid-19, Farida Parveen has been suffering from thyroid complications including kidney complications, diabetes, high blood pressure for a long time.
“Farida Parveen is much better now. Her oxygen levels are also normal. In such a situation, she will be in isolation from home. Above all, Farida Parveen is now well. Hopefully, she will return to normal life soon,” Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, managing director of Universal Medical College Hospital in Dhaka
Kidney disease and diabetes specialist Dr. Rana Mokarram Hossain, cardiac specialist Dr. Gautam Sen, Intensive Care Medicine Specialist Dr. Mohammad Anul Hanan, and Dr. Mehedy Hasan advised on her recovery.
It is to be mentioned that Farida Parveen has got fame in the country and abroad by singing Lalon (folk) songs. In 1987, she received the Ekushey Padak for her special contribution to the music industry. She also won the ‘Fukuoka Asian Culture Award’ from the Japanese government in 2008.
