Farhad Ahmed Joy of Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj lost his both hands and was living a miserable and distressing life. He is the son of Sohrab Uddin of Charteki village in Jangalia union of Pakundia upazila.

The dream was very colorful. He joined the army in 2018. He also had to lose his job for his mother's national identity card defect. He was known as a good cricketer in the area. Even then, he took the helm of the needy family by working as a rod-mason. But the cruel irony of fate, on November 4, 2019, while working in a building under construction next to the house, he was electrocuted by an iron rod and part of his right leg along with his two hands got burnt.

Farhad's mother Swapna Akhter said, we did not have land in the place. My eldest son had a small job in a private company. Joy's father is no longer able to work due to illness. The youngest son is in eighth grade at a local school.  It is difficult to treat Joy and feed her twice. Moreover, when I think about my son's future, my eyes go blind.

Farhad's cousin Shahadat Hossain Tutul said, "After collecting all the documents and submitting them to the Pakundia Upazila Social Services Department on January 24, 2020, I contacted the chairman and the office several times. No assurance came so far for a disability allowance card."

The locals said, "We are cooperating so that they can temporarily leave." If the government rehabilitates the boy, everyone in the area, including the family, will be grateful to the government.

Ruhadul Amin, an official of the Upazila Social Services Department, said that Farhad would be officially assisted in this regard.
