The family members of Mohammad Ahsan Ali, Union Parishad (UP) member of Lakkhirchar union in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, held a press conference on Tuesday demanding death sentence for his murderers.
His younger brother Bakul Hossain said that on March 10, 2023, a criminal gang attacked his brother, Mohammad Ahsan Ali, in Nandina Bazar, Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, due to a previous enmity. The assailants brutally hacked him, leaving him severely injured and believing him to be dead. While undergoing treatment, Ahsan Ali filed a case with Jamalpur Sadar Police Station seeking justice for the brutal attack. The case named 21 individuals, including known and unknown suspects, totaling 10 to 15 more.
Later, the UP member was killed at their hand in August 31.
The wife of the deceased UP member, along with his son-in-law and his daughters, were present.
