The deadline for submitting applications for the recruitment of data collectors and supervisors under the Department of Social Services' Family Card programme has been extended until 12:00pm on July 28.

The extension was granted after recruitment activities could not be completed within the stipulated timeframe due to adverse conditions and unavoidable circumstances in several areas.

According to an urgent directive signed on Saturday by Director General Shah Mohammad Mahbub, both newly submitted and previously received applications must be verified, evaluated and scrutinised, with the final list of selected candidates to be published by July 30.

The directive said evaluation processes already underway in some areas will continue. Local recruitment committees may also temporarily suspend ongoing tests to conduct joint assessments for both new and existing applicants.

Local committees have been authorised to decide whether examinations scheduled for July 25 and 26 should be postponed or held as planned, depending on local circumstances. If the scheduled examinations proceed, separate tests must later be arranged for newly applied candidates.

The Department also reiterated that written examinations are not permitted in the recruitment process. Candidates will instead be assessed through practical and viva examinations, alongside evaluation of their academic GPA, in accordance with the approved manpower allocation.

Following publication of the final selection list, revised schedules for training and subsequent programme activities will be announced.

The Department of Social Services urged all committee chairpersons, member-secretaries and other concerned officials to strictly follow the directive to ensure the smooth and timely implementation of the Family Card programme.
