Police detained a man in the capital on January 16 as he was pretending to be an Additional Superintendent of Police. Recently a photo of the fake ADC with the Additional Police Commissioner of Shylhet, Paritosh Ghosh went viral on social media. The detainee was identified as Rahul Gope, son of Ajit Gope resident of Baniyachang upazila of Habiganj.
Rahul is actually a fraud who used to pretend as an ADC using his photos with powerful people like ministers and government officials. He also tricked several youths of Habiganj into giving him crores for providing them with jobs in Police Force.
When asked about the photo with the fake ADC, Police Commissioner Paritosh Ghosh said years ago the pretender came to his office and took the photo. He also said Rahul might have bought the Police uniform from Polwell Police Market so he could not identify it as a fake.
