The national consumer rights protection directorate in Jhenaidah has fined a fake physician and sealed off his chamber on Sunday. The authorities also fined three cosmetics vendors when they were engaged in selling contra banned cosmetics.
The drive was conducted by assistant director in Jhenaidah Suchandan Mandal with the assistance of a team of police men of Moheshpur police station in Jhenidah.
National consumer rights protection directorate assistant director said, acting on a tip off, the authorities with the assistance of an assistant sub inspector of Moheshpur police station SM Salah Uddin conducted the drive at Purapara Bazer.
During the drive they found that some so called physician Alauddin was examining the patients at his unauthorized chamber Sazib Medical. A number of patients were seen admitted in two rooms of the clinic.
When the owner and so called physician Alauddin was asked to show any documents favouring his profession, running chamber and examining patients as a physician, had failed to do so. They fined Alauddin for an amount of Taka 50 thousand and sealed off the chamber.
They had also fined Taka seven thousand to Sohana cosmetics, Taka five thousand to Andulia cosmetics and Utsab cosmetics each at the same market. The cosmetics vendors were allegedly selling contra banned cosmetics at their business establishments for a long.
