Fahmid Wasik Ali, FCMA has been appointed as the new country chief financial officer of Novartis (Bangladesh) Limited, a leading multinational pharmaceuticals of the country, effective from June 1, 2019.
Fahmid will also act as the finance director and company secretary in the board of directors of Novartis (Bangladesh) Limited, said a press release. Fahmid joined Novartis (Bangladesh) Limited in September 2006, serving most recently as the chief financial officer, pharmaceuticals division of the company.
He held several positions of increasing responsibilities in Finance in different capacities with diverse team as an identified talent. He contributed extensively in different projects in Switzerland, India, and Singapore along with a long-term assignment in Indonesia. He brings more than 16 years of experience of which more than 13 years is in pharmaceutical industry.
Fahmid holds a post-graduation in Accounting with excellent scholastic record from University of Dhaka. He is a fellow member of The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). Fahmid is blessed with one son and one daughter.
