Extortion will not be allowed in port city: CMP Commissioner

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy said extortionists have no place in Chattogram city. Financial gain cannot be taken from anyone by coercion. Trade legitimately, cooperation will be open to all.

He said, no vehicle without registration can run in Chattogram city.  In city life, people have to accept many things for public interest.  Due to existing structures, overpopulation and transportation, the police are often forced to take various decisions which may not be desirable to many.  But many things should be taken into consideration for the sake of the country and the nation.

 There is no denying that the interaction between police and journalists is inevitable.  There are many opportunities to work for the welfare of people in the police department.  The main strength of this work is the media.  The media gives the police a way to go.  Media plays many roles in enhancing people's positive perception of the police.  The comparative picture of the law and order situation in Chittagong in the last one year is very good.  CMP has the mindset of doing better with everyone's cooperation.

CMP Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy said this while interacting with journalists at the PHP VIP Lounge of the Press Club on Tuesday.

Chattogram Press Club President Salahuddin Md Reza presided over the meeting.  DebdulalBhowmik, General Secretary of the Press Club, gave a welcome speech on the occasion.

Salahuddin Md. Reza said that winning people's hearts through good deeds is the success of the police.  Police has a special role in a beautiful and peaceful society.  Day by day, along with the increase in the number of people in the city, there is also a change in the type of crime.  The police are also dealing with it through new thinking and methods.

General Secretary DebdulalBhowmik said in his welcome speech that the relationship between police and journalists is ancient.  Their responsible role is very important in building a prosperous nation.  People's mind-set about police is changing day by day.  Police activities and thinking are now more advanced and modern.
