Rajshahi University teachers and students under different banners on Thursday protested against Khulna University authority’s decision of the expulsion of three teachers and two students, reports our RU Correspondent.

They formed human chain and silent procession carrying placard and holding black stuff on the mouth at different places of the university campus.

Mass Communication and Journalism department assistant professor Kazi Mamun Haider said, we stood four days ago against the possibilities of if the Khulna University authority would expel the teachers. The possibility has come true. The KU administration decided to expel the teachers. We condemn to the decision of the university administration.

The decision of KU administration is the question of our existence and the liberty of a university. The public universities are run on the money of this country’s people. Then why its students and teacher would not claim a logical demand! We are not here only for today. We will be here until The KU administration withdraw its decision about the expulsion of teachers and students, he added.

The teachers of Rajshahi University formed the human chain under the banner of ‘University Teachers’ Network’ in front of the ‘Shaheed Buddhijibi Smriti Falak’ of the university and the students formed the human chain at Paris Road of the university under the banner of ‘Rajshahi University Students’.

Meanwhile, teachers and students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) formed a human chain and protest rally demanding withdrawal of the expulsion order of those two KU students and three teachers of the university on Thursday noon.

The human chain was formed in front of the main gate of the university in Gopalganj in the presence of more than a hundred teachers and students, reports our BSMRSTU Correspondent.
