Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday told the Parliament that the government is working to punish Bangladeshis who are engaged in spreading propaganda against the country and the government abroad. The premier said that he government has been working to bring those who are engaged in anti-government activities, provocative and fabricated statements (staying abroad) to book and ensure punishment.

The expatriate Bangladeshis living in different foreign countries including USA, UK and many European countries are brightening the name and image of Bangladesh through their positive activities in the host countries alongside sending remittance. They are playing role to protect the interests of Bangladesh staying in the host countries.

But some vested elements led by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have been deliberately spreading propaganda at different platforms against the country, government and ongoing mega projects since long at home and abroad. They are very much active and now involved with conspiracies and propaganda at home and abroad as they fear about their political future in the country.

Some vested quarters have

been deliberately spreading

propaganda at different platforms

 against the country

An organised evil force comprising several vested quarters and extreme communal groups incited by the anti-liberation forces and killers of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and their patrons can do anything anytime in order to create chaos in the country. It is very unfortunate that when the country is in a transition period, the BNP along with some elements are trying to create political instability in the country. It is crystal clear to all that the BNP and vested quarters are plotting to ‘net fish in troubled water’ capitalising on the global crisis arising from the Russia-Ukraine war.

The BNP is visible enemy of democracy and flag bearer of communal politics. It cannot accept the fact that Bangladesh can go ahead braving all odds. The party’s senior leaders are now desperate to make the country a failed state. Staying abroad they are criticising the government constantly on social and electronic media and their only job is to push the country towards darkness.

The party revealed its hateful and malevolent politics by making venomous remarks against the government. Its falsehood and venomous speech at home and abroad have proved that it cannot engage itself with the weal and woe of the people. However, we believe the party cannot suppress the country anymore by hatching any sort of conspiracy with their local and foreign cohorts.
