A woman and her son were hacked to death by miscreants in Shibganj upazila of Bogura.
The incident took place at Bot Tola village of Sadullapur on Tuesday morning, when their bloodied bodies were found inside their home.
Bogura’s Assistant Superintendent of Police (Shibganj Circle) Md Rabiul Islam confirmed the matter.
The victims were identified as Rani Begum, 40, wife of Kuwait expatriate Idris Ali, and their son Imran Hossain, 18. Imran was a first-year college student at Nishindara Fakir Uddin School and College.
According to police and locals, the killings occurred sometime late on Monday night (September 15). In the morning, family members noticed the bodies through a window and alerted the police. Later, the Crime Scene Unit of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) visited the site. Rani Begum’s body was found in the veranda while Imran’s body was in another room.
The bodies were sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Relatives said the assailants looted a motorcycle, cash, and about three bhori of gold ornaments from the house.
