Expatriate killed by brother in Burichang

Hasan (35), a Qatari expatriate, died tragically at the hands of his father and children in a trivial incident at Comilla’s Burichang Upazila. It is learned that the children including the father fled the house after the incident. The incident took place on Thursday (August 27) while they were in a quarrel with two brothers on the roof of the house.

According to local and police sources, Hasan, son of Anwar Hossain of Burichang Upazila, returned home from Qatar on January 20 this year. Corona was ensuing then and he could not return to work due to the effect. He recently planted a roof garden as a hobby. Saiful, Sabuj his two younger brothers, and his father, went to visit the roof garden on Thursday morning and got into an argument with him. At one stage, in the presence of his father, Saiful hit Hasan on the back of the head with a brick and seriously injured him.

Later, when his wife Tania went to save her husband, they also beat her severely. Neighbors rescued Hasan and took him to Comilla Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Upon receiving the news, the police of Burichang police station recovered the body and seized the bricks as evidence and brought them to the police station.

Tania Akhter, wife of the deceased, said that her father-in-law Anwar Hossain and brother-in-law Zahidul Hasan used to quarrel with her husband over money. In this context, when the saplings were planted on the roof of the house in the morning, a quarrel started between the father-in-law along with her brother-in-laws with her husband.

According to the locals, Anwar left his son dead on the roof and went to the market to sell milk. The two brothers fled.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Burichang Police Station Mozammel Haque said the body was sent to the morgue of Comilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The case is in process.
