Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque has said that 22 canals that connencted with the river Mayur will be free from river grabbers as Bangladesh Navy has already started renovation works of 83 canals at sundarban area for costing Tk 531 crore.
He said this while inaugarting National Fisheries Week-2019 at DC's conference hall in Khulna city.
Mayor said Shrimp cultivation and export is the vital concern for Bangladeshi economy.
We will emphasize on Plan wise Shrimp farming rather than Unplanned farming.
Acting Deputy Commissioner Md Iqbal Hossain presided over the meeting at DC's conference hall on Thursday. Ronojit Kumar Paul, Divisional deputy Director of Khulna Fisheries department, SM Fazlur Rahman deputy Police Commissioner of KMP, ASP Anisur Rahman and Khulna Department of Agricultural Extension, Deputy Director Pankaj Kanti Majumdar were present as special guests at the meeting.
Besides, representatives from Fish farmer association, Fisherman community and Fish food seller community were also present.
