Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said that every child should have a dream in life. Persistence in realizing that dream will be the key to fulfilling his life goals. Parents and teachers need to take care of this.

He said this in the chief guest's speech at a discussion meeting on the occasion of the 35th founding anniversary of the Sheikh Russell National Children's Council at the Awami League central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Monday afternoon. Under the chairmanship of the general secretary of the council, KM Shahid Ulya, former member of the National Parliament, Shahidul Islam, advisor of the council, Sirajul Islam Molla and Farzana Sahad Chowdhury spoke.

Dr Hasan said, 'You have to dream. He, who does not have a dream, does not have the desire to fulfill his dream. So I request children and teenagers, you dream and put in constant effort to make your dreams come true. Then many of your dreams will come true. In addition, if you lose in any work, do not lose patience, but work with redoubled zeal, success will overtake you. Bill Gates became a world genius despite failing university exams, APJ Abdul Kalam, a child from a poor family, became the President of India.'

Stating that the Sheikh Russell National Council for Children and Adolescents has been playing an outstanding role in organizing children and adolescents for 35 years, and developing their talent, the Information and Broadcasting Minister said, 'Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina observes the activities of this organization with great interest and is always sympathetic to this organization. Because children are the future of the nation. If we can build them properly then we can build the future of the nation. Children associated with organizations are ahead of others in many ways. In that case, Sheikh Russell National Youth Council is playing a role.

Dr Hasan Mahmud said in remembrance of Sheikh Russell, "Sheikh Russell was killed when he was only 10 years old. As Bangabandhu had many human qualities, as he extended his hand to others from his youth, as Bangabandhu's father Sheikh Lutfar Rahman gave his own grain of rice to others, Sheikh Russell had the same qualities. If Sheikh Russell was alive, he could have led Bangladesh and Bangladesh would have benefited. But when Bangabandhu was killed in his family on August 15, 1975, Sheikh Russell was also killed. We pray for his holy soul to rest in peace and inspire our children with his virtues.'

At the end of the meeting, the information minister cut the cake with the organizers on the occasion of the anniversary. In response to a question from journalists, he said that BNP is an obstacle in the way of practicing democracy. Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan said, 'In fact, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and BNP are engaged in an attempt to kill democracy and as part of that attempt, they tried to prevent the election in 2014. They have made every effort to question the 2018 elections. Because they actually want to kill democracy, they make various statements to cover it up.

The Broadcasting Minister said, 'There will be no more caretaker government in Bangladesh. The current government will serve as the government during the election. Elections will be conducted in our country in the same way as in all the parliamentary democratic countries of the world.

In India, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, the incumbent government serves as an elected government in several continental European countries. Even in the United States, the government does not resign during presidential elections.

'The caretaker government is only in Pakistan and they like Pakistan. For that reason, even if they want to imitate Pakistan, nothing will happen in Bangladesh," said Dr Hasan.

He said, 'We have been hearing this since 14 years that BNP will not return home without the fall of the current government. While doing that, it was seen that BNPE has been separated from the people, BNP has fallen to the people.'
