The Eid-ul-Azha film season is beginning its move to digital platforms, with Azmeri Haque Badhon-starrer Esha Murder: Kormofol becoming the first among this year’s Eid releases to head for streaming.

The streaming platform Binge announced the news unveiling a new poster on its official Facebook page. The murder mystery is expected to be available for viewers within this week.

Directed by Sunny Sanwar, Esha Murder was one of six new films that hit cinemas during this Qurbani Eid. While several titles including Taandob, Utshob, and Insaaf are still running in theatres, Esha Murder will now reach a wider audience through its OTT debut.

The film follows the investigation of a chilling case involving the rape and murder of three young women in the same district. Azmeri Haque Badhon plays the lead role of Leena, a determined police officer tasked with solving the case. This marks the first time Badhon has taken on a police character in her career.

Although the film had a slow start at the box office, it gradually gained positive attention, thanks in part to Badhon’s promotional visits to cinemas across the country. Her performance has been praised for its depth and intensity.

Speaking about the OTT release, Badhon expressed her excitement, saying, “I had asked for this film to be screened in single theatres so it could reach more people. Now, with its streaming release, that wish is finally coming true.”

She also thanked the producers for backing a female-led film and encouraged more filmmakers to take similar initiatives. Esha Murder adds to Badhon’s growing list of serious and impactful roles in recent years.
