Entrepreneurship fair held in Moulvibazar

'Udokta Mela' 2022 organized by IDE (International Development Enterprise) Bangladesh in collaboration with Moulvibazar District Administration was inaugurated. Various organizations and individuals presented and displayed their products and services through 25 stalls in this fair. Besides, about two hundred youths of the district were present at the fair to exchange new small business ideas.

The day-long fair was organized at the Bengal Convention Hall in Moulvibazar city on Monday (September 5). Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Tania Sultana presided over the inauguration as Chief Guest by Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan said, through this day-long event, business and employment opportunities for rural small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) and youth will be increased as well as display of their products, their services, views and ideas will be exchanged. Besides, by strengthening the market system, the rural population living in Sylhet division will play a helpful role in the development of income, livelihood and above all the rural environment. Today's small and medium entrepreneurs will one day own big industries. Can create employment opportunities for unemployed youth.

Mau Deb, a small entrepreneur who participated in the fair, said that after completing the training from IDE and BIDA, I have been making and marketing various jute products for the past nine months. 

There is a huge demand for designer products made of jute. Ambalika Devasharma, another entrepreneur, said that she makes Manipuri saris and various clothes at home. Self employed with 3/4 staff. No need to go anywhere for marketing. Traders bought various Manipuri clothes from home.
