Entrepreneurship Economics programme to play vital role in country’s economy

Renowned economist Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad has expressed hope that the Entrepreneurship Economics Programme at the Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) will play a vital role in country’s economic development in the days to come.

He also hoped that the programme will work to remove the gap between the rich and poor in the country.

Qazi Kholiquzzaman, who is the honourary director of the DScE, a constituent institution of the University of Dhaka, was speaking at the closing ceremony of an inter-university and college indoor games competition as the chief guest on Saturday.

Entrepreneurial Economists Club organized the competition. Students from different universities and colleges participated in a total of 12 indoor games including chase, carom, ludo and dartboard games.

Sports Editor of private television channel Channel24 Dilu Khandaker, former footballer of the national football team of Bangladesh Abdul Gaffar and former cricketer of Bangladesh national cricket team Sanowar Hossain were present at the function as special guests. 

Economist and Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Economics Programme at DScE Professor Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali presided over the function.

The guests hailed the operation of the Entrepreneurship Economics Programme as it is creating employment in the country.

“A four-year honours course has been launched under Entrepreneurship Economics Programme. This programme will help create employment and eradicate poverty from society. The students of this programme have been shining in both job and business sectors,” Professor Mahboob Ali said.

President of the club Ummun Nahar Azmi presided over the function. Its General Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, also the editor of the Daily Global Nation, gave the vote of thanks.

Actor Maznun Mizan was present as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Assistant Professors of the programme Rehana Parvin and Sara Tasneem and Executive Editor of Bangladesh Post Shiabur Rahman Shihab were present as special guests, among others.
