State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid called for ensuring energy security addressing the challenges of the energy sector with honesty and dedication.
The State Minister on Tuesday made this call while addressing the annual performance agreement implementation, innovation and purity award giving ceremony of Energy and Mineral Resources Division at the Secretariat Tuesday.
He said that the energy sector has to constantly work under new challenges. Efforts to address existing and emerging challenges through concerted efforts and joint initiatives must continue.
“Transition from the fragile state of electricity and energy in the country has been possible due to the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Team work, hard work and concentration lead to achieve success. Today's award will cheer up the hardworking and dedicated officers and employees. It will also help develop a positive competitive spirit among other officers,” he added.
Petrobangla, Hydrocarbon Unit and GSB have been awarded in recognition of their efficiency in implementation of the Annual Performance Agreement during the financial year 2021-22. Nazmul Ahsan, the former chairman of Petrobangla, received the Purity Award among the heads of departments/organizations.
Deputy Secretary (Planning-1) Shakil Ahmed among grades 2-9 of Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Administrative Officer Md Abdur Rahim Azad among grades 10-16 and Office Assistant Begum Azizun Nahar among grades 17-20 got the award.
Besides, Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (Bapex) and Eastern Refinery Limited (ERL) received award in organisation category for special contribution/innovation in the energy sector on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Among others, ABM Azad, chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation was also present at the event presided over by Md Mahbub Hossain, Senior Secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
