Eni SPA shows interest in supplying LNG to Bangladesh

Italian state-owned energy company, Eni SPA expressed interest in supplying LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) to Bangladesh. 

They also interested in working in the field of bio-refining, renewable energy, hydrocarbon production, wind power and new technologies to contribute to Bangladesh's sustainable energy system.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Thursday paid a courtesy call on Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Enrico Nunziata in his office at the Secretariat. During this time, they discussed various issues of mutual interest. The Ambassador highlighted the situation in Italy in the fields of energy, power and technology. 

During the meeting, the state minister said European companies would be welcomed to work in Bangladesh. The business model of how the Italian company will export LNG needs to be discuss at the expert level. Experiences with hydrogen fuel and deep-sea oil and gas exploration can be exchanged. Both countries will benefit if they can exchange experiences at the official level under a specific framework. Among others Marco Piredda, Senior Vice President, SPA's International Affairs Analysis and Business Support, and Mauro Rinaudo, Vice President, LNG Business Development department were also present there.
