Police have recovered the hanging body of an engineer from a rented house in Chhoto Latifpur area under Kaliakair upazila in Gazipur.
The incident occurred early Monday . The dead was identified as Shahjahan Mia, 47, son of Habibur from Enayetpur area under Kashimpur Police Station in Gazipur city.
According to police and family sources, Shahjahan had been living with his family in a rented house owned by one Moshiur Rahman in Chhoto Latifpur area. He worked as an engineer at a local factory.
On Sunday night, Shahjahan reportedly had an argument with his wife before they both went to sleep. Early in the morning, his wife woke up to find him missing from the bed. Upon checking the adjacent room, she saw his body hanging from the ceiling fan.
Police arrived at the scene upon being informed and recovered the body.
Sub-inspector Md. Jamil Hasan of Kaliakair Police Station said the body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
“The actual cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report,” he added.
