The Energy Division on Tuesday clarified on natural gas leakage and urged all not to get panicked about it.

The Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry issued a statement immediately after the gas leakage occurred in some areas including Rampura, Badda, Banasree and Bailey Road on Monday.

The gas leakage took place from 10:30 pm to 11:00 pm on Monday night, the statement said.

Soon after the leakage, a total of 14 emergency teams of Titas Gas Distribution Company visited the areas and took necessary measures.

They also urged the people not to be panicked about the leakage of natural gas.

The teams reduced gas pressure from District Regulating Stations (DRS) of the areas and took prompt measures to make the situation normal.

The statement said that due to closure of industries and factories during the holy Eid-ul-Fitr holiday, gas pressure of the areas increased slightly compared to normal time.

Now, the pressure of the gas supply is normal and the gas supply is fully under control, it added.
