Endless prospects of investment in Bangladesh highlighted

A seminar on investement in Bangladesh Economic Zones was held in Osaka, Japan on Friday. 

Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), Bangladesh Embassy in Japan, Bangladesh Investment Development Aithority (BIDA), Bangladesh Special economic zones authority (BEZA), JETRO and Asia Pacific Institute of Research (APIR) jointly organised the seminar at ANA Crown Plaza, Osaka, Japan.

BEZA Executive Chairman Sheikh Yusuf Harun, while addressing the seminar highlighted endless prospects and potentials of investment in Bangladesh.

He said as the coutry of 35th largest economy with contiued 6 percent GDP growth, Bangladesh is holding 66 percent of active population.

He said Bangladesh has been lauded by Asian Development Bank, Wall Street Journal, JP Morgan upon its post-Covid economic growth. 

"The government has created huge opportunities in terms of women empowerment, building digital Bagladesh, also formed investment and export friendly policy and made various efforts in health sector and economic zones", he added.

Separate presentations were made in the seminar by JICA and JETRO on the context of Bangladesh's economic scenario.

BIDA Executive Chairman delivered his speech highlighting the current investment policy of Bangladesh. Another presentation was made by BEZA official on “Potential of Economic Zones as Investment Destination with BEZA’s Commitment”. A session was held sideline the seminar on the experience of Sakata Younx , an investor in BEZA. More than 100 participants except the represntatives of BIDA, BEZA, JICA, JETRO, Bangladesh Ambassy in Japan, APIR took part in the seminar.  The seminar mainly aimed to highlight the achievement of Bangladesh in various fields of investment and trade on the 5oth anniversary of bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and Japan as part of the state visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Japan.
