Elephant attack victims get compensation

A compensation cheque of Tk 4 lakh 60 thousand has been given to 5 victims of wild elephant attack in Banshkhali.

 The cheques were distributed of the Upazila Officers Club auditorium on Wednesday by Kalipur Range of Chittagong South Forest Division.

 Patiya Range Forest Officer Noor Alam Hafeez and Banshkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Saiduzzaman Chowdhury presided over the function.

Assistant Forest Conservator of Chittagong South Forest Department Md Abu Taher was the chief guest at the check distribution function.  Special guests were Md. Khorshed Alam, Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Officer, Mohiuddin Chowdhury Khoka, Chairman of Sadhanpur Union.

 Md Saiduzzaman Chowdhury said that the forest department is very sincere and active in elephant conservation under the direction of the government.  Elephants are entering the locality in search of food. You should not create obstacles for elephants to come and go.  Do not attack elephants. If necessary, take the cooperation of the responsible officials of the government.
