The family of a man killed in a wild elephant attack in Lohagara upazila in Chattogram was given a check of Tk 1 lakh as compensation by the forest department.
The check was handed over to the victim's wife Chenuara Begum at the Upazila Nirbahi Officer's Office in Lohagara on Thursday afternoon.
The man named Nurul Alam was killed in a wild elephant attack in Charamba Maijbila Moridaghona area of the upazila on December 7 last year.
Lohagara UNO Tousif Ahmed, Chittagong Divisional Forest Officer Abu Naser Mohammad Yasin Newaz, Range Officer of Wildlife Sanctuary Manjur Alam, Junior Wildlife Scout Muhammad Forkan Mia were present on the occasion.
