Tareque Masud is a Bengali-based movie maker through whose hands Bangladeshi cinema has reached the world court. The image of life which he used to frame on screen put him in the seat of a renowned Bengali film director.
Tuesday was the eighth death anniversary of this legendary film director. He died in a road accident. He was not alone at the time Mishuk Munier, a talented cinematographer and media personality also passed away with him.
Tareque Masud and Mishuk Munier went to Manikganj to see the location of the shooting of a new film ‘Kagojer Ful’, created by the duo. On the way back, they encountered a road accident.
Then the camera comes to a standstill. The long dreamt ‘Kagojer Ful’ has not yet seen the face of light. Although Tareque Masud's wife, Catherine Masud, has taken over the movie, there is no news of its completion yet.
The journey of Tareque Masud and Mishuk Munier started with the documentary 'Adam Surat', based on eminent artist SM Sultan in the early eighties. The two friends then roamed the countryside with SM Sultan. They made the documentary 'Adam Surat' by staying with SM Sultan from the year 1982 to 1989.
The duo then captured multiple stories in cameras together and has received international accolades. Among those pictures are 'Matir Maina', 'Runway', 'Muktir Kotha’, 'Mukrtir Gan' and others.
