Anti-Corruption Officer detained two officials of District Primary Education Office (DPEO) on charges of taking bribe in Thakurgaon on Monday.
The detainees are Anisur Rahman, assistant district primary education officer, and Zulfiqar Ali, office assistant of DPEO.
According to ACC, a team of ACC recovered Tk50, 000 from the drawer of Zulfiqar Ali during the drive at his office around 10:00am. Later, ACC conducted a drive in the house of district primary education officer Anisur Rahman.
The duo were arrested based on specific allegations of bribery against them; the ACC official said adding that legal actions would be taken against them.
Additional Police Super Abu Taher Mohammad Abdullah said Anisur and Zulfiqar were handed over to Thakurgaon Police Station by a team of ACC.
A case was filed with Thakurgaon Police Station in this connection.
