All educational institutions will be closed until November 14, said the Minister of Education Dr Dipu Moni.
He made the announcement at a virtual briefing on Thursday (October 29) around 12 noon.
At the time, the education minister said, “Our experts say we are at risk because the coronavirus may increase in the country in winter. But even then, with those who will be taking the SSC or HSC exams next year, we are thinking about what can be done to ensure that there are no health risks at all. If the situation is favourable then we will go for such a decision.”
She added, “This time our book will be ready. In this situation, we will not be able to distribute the books that we organise every time. So we will think of alternatives and think about how to give the book to each student.”
Incidentally, all educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 17. The leave was supposed to end on October 31 after several extensions. However, as the situation of coronavirus was not normal, the holiday period of the educational institution has been extended till November 14.
