With a view to ensure quality education, different educational materials including sound systems and projectors were distributed to 100 government primary schools at Ishwardi upazila in Pabna on Thursday.
Former land minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif, lawmaker of Pabna-4 constituency, was present there as chief guest to distribute those materials and cash money.
Ahmad Hossain Bhuiyan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, presided over the programme.
Among others, Nuruzzaman Biswas, chairman of the upazila, Mamtaj Mahal, Assistant Commissioner (land), Abdus Salam Khan and Atiya Ferdous Kakoli, Vice Chairman of the Upazila spoke there as special guests. Upazila primary education officer Mrinal Kumar Sarkar delivered the welcome speech.
At that time, 121 sound systems for 100 government primary schools and 75 projectors for 73 schools were handed over to the headmasters of that school. Besides, donations of Tk 10 lakhs were distributed among the destitute people and different organizations through the local MPs' voluntary fund.
Earlier, the first meeting of the newly formed Upazila Parishad was held in the conference room. Through this, the elected upazila Chairmen and Vice Chairmen started their official activities.
