Entrepreneurs should not run to find jobs. Therefore, the upazila administration has taken initiative to create entrepreneurs for the unemployed youth of Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj. Entrepreneurial Development Initiatives for Tungipara (EDIT) has embarked on a journey to implement that plan. Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana inaugurated the EDIT at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Thursday afternoon after the Entrepreneur Conference and Entrepreneur Fair at the Central Shaheed Minar premises organized by the Upazila Administration. He also unveiled the EDIT logo and launched the www.editbd.org website.

As it is known, this website will serve as a platform for EDIT entrepreneurs to increase their skills, market awareness and communication with financial institutions. In addition, the website will act as a bridge between the business start-up and the various licensing or approval departments at various levels. Besides, through this website one will be able to know information about the training organized by different departments of Tungipara Upazila. The training that young men and women have received from government and private departments in the last few years will be recorded. When entrepreneurs apply for a bank loan for capital, the bank managers will be able to see through this website whether they are really an entrepreneur or have skills. Banking institutions will also be able to know the type of business of the borrower entrepreneur. Speaking as the chief guest, Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana said that if the houses and shops give loans to the entrepreneurs instead of looking at the jute, then the young entrepreneurs will arrange employment for more unemployed people. Today's entrepreneurs will be able to create a self-reliant Bangladesh.

Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer AKM Hedayetul Islam said the main objective of EDIT is to create entrepreneurs in Tungipara Upazila and develop the skills of existing entrepreneurs to realize Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bangla and Prime Minister's Digital Bangladesh.

An able-bodied young man, that is, one who has the confidence to do something new, if he can make an enterprise commercially successful without looking for a job, then he will be able to give jobs to many more unemployed youths.

Therefore, this initiative has been taken to make the unemployed youth of the upazila self-reliant without running after jobs.
