Eco-park work begins in Magura

Magura district administration has taken initiative to set up an eco-park and resort on 105 acres government land of Sirijdia Baor in Magura Sadar upazila with huge tourism facilities. The total area includes 92 acres of water bodies and 13 acres of land.

Advocate Saifuzzaman Shikhar, MP from Magura-1 constituency, inaugurated the park and resort project as the chief guest on Monday noon. 

Magura Deputy Commissioner Ashraful Alam presided over the program while, Zila Parishad Chairman Pankaj Kundu, Superintendent of Police Khan Muhammad Rezwan, Sadar Upazila Chairman Abu Nasir Bablu and others spoke at the time.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Ashraful Alam said that the eco-park and resort in Sirijdia Baor area under Chaulia Union of Sadar Upazila will become a famous tourist destination and picnic spot for people all over the country. The construction work around the Baor, tree plantation, power supply, construction of cottages, navigation and other activities for the safety of tourists have already started. 

After completing all the works , it will turn into an attractive tourist and recreation center of the country. At the initial stage of the work, Saifuzzaman Shikhar, MP has allocated Tk 35 lakh from his government development fund. Besides, Zila and Upazila Parishad have allocated money in this project already.
