The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved 11 projects worth Tk 4,252.65 crore including year-round fruit production.
The approval came from a meeting of the ECNEC held with its chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at the NEC Conference Room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Tuesday.

Mannan saidthe Ecnec approved 11 projects with an overall estimated cost of Tk4,252.65 crore.
Of the total project cost, Tk 3,685.20 crore will come from the government’sfund while the rest of Tk 607.45 crore will be available as foreign loan, he mentioned.
Among the approved projects, the cost of building a cancer centre at Dhaka CMH has been estimated at Tk 246 crore.
The cost of the project for setting up 10 government secondary schools in the area near Dhaka city has been estimated at Tk 76.93 crore.
Besides, the Ecnec approved the revised project titled “Construction of the SwadhinataStambha (Independence Monument) atSuhrawardyUdyan in Dhaka” with an estimated cost of Tk 131.90 crore.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs will implement the project by December 2027.
The cost of nutrition development project through fruit production throughout the year has been estimated at Tk211.32 crore. The Ministry of Agriculture will implement it by June 2025.
The cost of the Flood Reconstruction Emergency Assistance Project (FREAP) has been estimated at Tk300 crore. This project will also be implemented by the Agriculture Ministry.
The cost of rural infrastructure development project of Jamalpur district has been estimated at Tk1,125 crore.
The cost of “Wash Sector Strengthening and Sanitation (SanMarks) Development Project in Bangladesh” has been estimated at Tk156.25 crore.
The cost of Climate Resilient Sustainable Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Project in Bangladesh project has been estimated at Tk274.47 crore.
The cost of the dredging project in the inner bar of the Mongla port channel has been estimated at Tk 198.54 crore.
Besides, Bhulta-Araihajar-Bancharampur-Navinagar-Shivpur-Radhika Regional Highway and Sarail-Nasirnagar-Lakhi Regional Highway Widening and Development Project and Secondary Education Sector Investment Project have also been approved.
