Dhaka is developing up on a steep curve when it comes to global delicacies. Every now and then new and punk cafes are bringing global cuisine to the palate, becoming the newest chit-chat hot-spot. The food map of Dhaka is evolving with cuisines pushing its way to an effective soul satiation. S’MORES is one such cafe and restaurant in Dhaka city where you can hang out with your friends or family for a sumptuous lunch. Situated in Dhanmondi, this luxurious place offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere in a setting where socializing and celebrating is fun and familiar. S’MORES offers a variety of dining option to cater to masses of varied palettes.

The décor is classy, more like a chic open English café. The interior looks glamorous, with the sitting options radiating a comforting vibe. We tried a variety of appetizers, gradually leading to finger licking starters, ravishing main course and gluttonous desserts. To begin, we picked New Jersey Cream of Mushroom Soup (BDT 290) and New England Sea Food Chowder (BDT 390). I particularly liked the Sea Food Chowder, which mostly compromised of delicate cream based soup featuring a mix of fresh fish and seafood. Simple and delicious!

Chicken Alfredo (BDT 490) combines a creamy pasta sauce with tender slices of lean protein. The white meat is butterflied for quick cooking and was seasoned for maximum flavour. Louisiana Chicken Burger (BDT 390) features fried chicken fillet coated in herbs and spices and smothered in Louisiana secret sauce with olives, lettuce and cheddar cheese in between freshly baked buns. Italian Toasted Chicken Ravioli (BDT 390) consisted of perfectly cooked minced chicken in pillows of fried pasta goodness, served with marinara sauce.

Moving on to the main course, the Norwegian Salmon (BDT 1490) seemed quite attractive. 200gm of baked Norwegian salmon fish fillet is succulent, when served with bell pepper fried rice, seasonal veggies and piccata sauce indeed had set the mood for the lunch. Moving on, pan seared French King Prawn (BDT 890) was fresh and juicy, paired well with fried rice and rich garlic sauce. A great treat to the already ecstatic palette.

The tender and juicy Russian Beef Stroganoff (BDT 590) steak strips with mushrooms and onions, smothered in a savoury sour cream sauce served with rice and greens was indeed a magnificent, rich, rib-sticking dish. The decadent combination of succulent grilled seafood and tender steak makes Canadian Surf & Turf (BDT 1990) a beloved dinner classic. 300gms of fine cut grilled t-bone, combined with 2 pieces of tiger prawns served with mash, greens and diane sauce looks exotic and tastes amazing.

The best part of this meal was indeed the desserts. The gooey, rich and delectable S’MORES (BDT 190) filled with a whipped milk chocolate ganache, topped with toasted marshmallow fluff covered in chocolate buttercream, drizzled with dark chocolate throughout, and skirted with an addictive, crunchy graham cracker crumble is sinfully delicious. A MUST have!!

New York Cheese Cake (BDT 290) on the other hand, has creamy, satiny texture. This iconic New York cheesecake has a rich, dense filling and lots of blueberry topping. Among drinks Hot Chocolate (BDT 260), S’MORES Special (BDT 360) and Sunriser (BDT 260) were delectable as well. A must visit place, S’Mores Café & Restaurant, will never fail to surprise you and please your tummy.
