E-commerce platform E-orange customers said that they have been pushed to the limit. They have announced that they will respect the law and wait for the decision until September 20. If no proper decision is made for their refund and delivery of goods, all the customers will take to the streets and go on hunger strike from September 20.
They made the statement in a protest rally organized by E-orange customers in front of the National Press Club on Friday.
The agitated customers said that E-orange did not even deliver their bikes despite giving commitment several times. Currently their office is closed; customercare service is also closed. Their CEO is saying that the company has been sold out.
They said that the bikes were supposed to be delivered from the August 17 last 17thof this month, but on that day, the e-commerce platform informed that they will start the general delivery from the 19th.
They said that it will take another 45 days for the delivery of the bikes.
“Although the bikes were supposed to be delivered within 45 days, it has already been 4 months. They are asking for more time and saying that they are unable to find vendors”, said the customers.
They further said that since Mashrafe Bin Mortaza became the brand ambassador of this organization, their orders have increased 10 times. But now he is saying that his contract with the organization expired in July.
Meanwhile, the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) recently suspended memberships of four e-commerce firms including E-orange as they failed to provide satisfactory responses to customer complaints.
In response to complaints from consumers and vendors, e-CAB has issued notices to a total of 16 companies to show cause in different cases. Some of the nine accused organizations have denied the allegations against them. Some have asked for time with a commitment to resolve the issues and comply with the digital commerce management guidelines-2021.
Therefore, further investigation is going on keeping nine institutions under observation. If there is no satisfactory solution, similar decision may be taken regarding those institutions.
