A workshop of Government-Tenderers Forum (GTF) of Khagrachari Hill District was held on Thursday 16th February 2023.
The workshop was organized by the Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) under the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Department (IMED) of the Ministry of Planning, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Md. Sahiduzzaman, District Commissioner and District Magistrate, Khagrachari Hill District spoke as the chief guest on the occasion. Senior System Analyst of CPTU Md. Mosharraf Hossain presided over the workshop held at the office of Deputy Commissioner, Khagrachori.
The workshop was organized with the support of Bangladesh Center for Communication Program (BCCP) under CPTU's Digitizing Implementation Monitoring and Public Procurement Project (DIMAPP) funded by the World Bank. Dr. Zeenat Sultana, Program Director, BCCP delivered the welcome speech and made a presentation about GTF at the workshop. BCCP’s program manager Md. Abdus Salam conducted the workshop.
Emphasizing the need for proper use of various methods incorporated by CPTU in the e-GP system to ensure complete digitization of public procurement, Md. Sahiduzzaman said this would ensure proper use of public money and accelerate sustainable development of the country.
Responding to various queries from tenderers and others, Md Mosharraf Hussain assured that the CPTU is working to overcome the challenges by incorporating the recommendations of all stakeholders to make the e-GP more effective.
He said the workshop would further update and activate the existing GTF Committee and help strengthen cooperation between procuring agencies and tenderers and speed up development activities.
More than 70 participants including representatives of government procurement entities and tenderers, members of civil society and journalists participated in the workshop.
