The preparations of celebrating Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Bangalee Hindu Community, is going on in full swing everywhere in Mymensingh district this year.
The idol makers are passing their busiest time with the finishing touch to the idols of goddess Durga.
District administration sources said that Puja will be celebrated at 788 Mandaps in all 13 upazilas including Mymensingh City Corporation. Of the total some 61 Mandaps would be erected in Haluaghat upazila, 34 in Dhobaura, 45 in Phulpur, 53 in Tarakandha ,61 in Gouripur,119 in Mymensingh Sadar, 103 in Muktagacha, 70 in Fulbaria, 74 in Trishal, 58 in Ishwargonj, 30 in Nandail, 17 in Gaffargeon and 63 in Bhaluka upazila.
The President of the district Puja Celebration Committee Advocate Rakhal Chandra Sarker told BSS that all out preparation is going on in full swing.
They have already instructed to wear masks compulsorily in every visitors along with maintain health rules and social distance. He expressed satisfaction for providing necessary cooperation from police

security measures to ensure peaceful celebration.
The five day long festival will begin on October 11 will be ended on October 15.
District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer (DRRO) Sanwar Hossen said that that, the government has already sanctioned over 388 tonnes of rice to assist the celebration.
Meanwhile the distribution of rice has already started. DRRO said each mandaps got 500 kgs of rice for the celebration.
