Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA) celebrated its 34th founding anniversary with the slogan 'Information, Youth and Constant True' on Thursday at Dhaka University Teachers Students Center (TSC) amid much enthusiasm and joy. Leader and member of DUJA brought out a procession led by VC Akhtaruzzaman, DUJA president Abir Rayhan, general secretary Mahdi Al Muhtasim Nibir, TSC director. Earlier, a cake was cut in honour of the occasion at the TSC by DU VC Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman.
Praising the important role of campus reporters, Prof Akhtaruzzaman said: “The Dhaka University Journalists' Association has been playing the role of Watchdog for not only Dhaka University but for the country, they are working to uphold democratic practices.” Mentioning the objectivity of Journalists DU VC said, “Journalists uphold the many problems and crisis of University and it has a civilizing influence on university’ administration,” DUJA president Abir Rayhan said: “Young journalists are playing an important role in accelerating higher education of Dhaka University; they are playing as watchdog of the University”. DUJA General Secretary Mahdi Al Muhtasim Nibir said, “DUJA began it’s journey in 1985 by some enthusiastic youth, it has been serving the nation upholding it’s slogan 'Information, Youth and Constant True'.
