The new chief and deputy chief of the leading English daily Bangladesh Post unit under Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) have been elected for the next two years.
A meeting was held at the Bangladesh Post’s office located at the third floor of the Sena Kalyan Business Mart in city’s Tejgaon industrial area on Sunday.
Bangladesh Post Executive Editor Durjoy Roy presided over the meeting.
DUJ Organizing Secretary Ziadur Rahaman Zihad ,Treasurer Ashraful Islam, and Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary
Shakila Parveen Ruma were present as election observers.
Chief Reporter and Special Correspondent of Bangladesh Post Habibullah Mizan was unanimously elected as the unit chief and staff photo journalist Nazmul Hasan as the deputy unit chief.
While addressing the election meeting, DUJ senior leaders Ziadur Rahaman Zihad, Ashraful Islam and Shakila Ruma emphasized on the need for strong and effective unit to protect and promote the rights of journalists and newspaper employees.
Bangladesh Post Acting Editor ASM A Khaleque, Executive Editor Durjoy Roy, News Editor Kailash Sarkar, Business Editor Ahmed Parvez Khan and City Page In-Charge Nasima Shoma congratulated the newly elected unit Chief Habibullah Mizan and Deputy Unit Chief Nazmul Hasan.
Durjoy Roy, Executive Editor of Bangladesh Post, thanked all the DUJ leaders who were present in the unit election as observers .
