DU VC seeks cooperation to observe Ekushey in orderly manner

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Akhtaruzzaman has sought copperation from all concerned ministries, city corporations, political parties, organizations, media personnel, and various law enforcement agencies to celebrate the Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day 2022 in a fair, peaceful, and orderly manner with due dignity and solemnity. The VC commented while speaking at a press briefing at Professor Abdul Matin Vertual Class Room of the university on Friday.

Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, “A maximum of five delegates from each organisation and two persons at individual level would be allowed to place wreaths at the Shaheed Minar, maintaining social distance and following hygiene rules. 

All participants have to show Covid-19 vaccine card.”

 The Vice-Chancellor further said that to ensure social distance, the road from Palashi More (Junction) to Shaheed Minar will have signs maintining a three feet distance, respectively. Vistors will be allowed to go to the main stages of the Shaheed Minar and lay wreaths after following these signs. Dr. Muhammad Samad, pro vice-chancellor (Admin), Treasurer Prof Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed, Professor Dr Md Rahmat Ullah, coordinator of the Amar Ekushey Celebration Central Coordinating Committee and president of Dhaka University Teachers Association, and Proctor Professor Dr AKM Golam Rabbani were present at the meeting.
