Newly appointed Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Dhaka University (DU) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Tuesday paid homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports BSS.

We also affirm to perform our duties upholding democratic, humanitarian and non-communal values,” said Prof Akhtaruzzaman.

President Md Abdul Hamid, chancellor of the universities, appointed Akhtaruzzaman for the next four years, according to the section 11(1) of Dhaka University Ordinance 1973 on November 03. Prof Akhtaruzzaman took over charge on Monday.
