Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Friday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of BRAC founder and chairmen emeritus Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, reports BSS.
In a condolence message, he said Abed has great contribution to socio- economic development in Bangladesh as well as other parts of the world through his internationally reputed NGO, BRAC.
“He would be remembered for his outstanding humanitarian works in alleviating poverty across the country in the days to come”, DU VC said.
Prof. Akhtaruzzaman prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family. Sir Fazle Hasan Abed died of a brain tumor at a hospital in the city on Friday night at the age of 83.
