Dhaka University Management Information Systems (MIS) Department is going to launch a new mobile and web app to make Dhaka University’s academical activities easier, paperless and more dynamic.
The initiative is being implemented with the funding and cooperation of the government's Information and Communication Technology Department.
The app is now in the testing phase which will be fully ready for use in July, stated a press release issued by MIS Department on Monday.
According to the press release, Online teaching, examination activities, acceleration of various departmental services and other related task can be easily done using the app.
Assistant Professor MD Rakibul Hasan of MIS Department said, 'We have our own strong server and the app has a well-organized database system in the background. Combining these two, we hope to give students a paperless academic system. The app is currently being tested. It may be ready for full use in July”.
Chairman of MIS Department Professor Akram Hossain said, “There is no alternative to online education in the time of Corona pandemic.
As the chairman of the department, it is very satisfying for me to be able to do academic activities using an app built by our department.
We want to set an example by making departmental activities as highly organized and paperless as possible. Thanks to the Department of Information and Communication Technology for staying by our side in fulfilling our dreams”.
