Dhaka University (DU) has unveiled its plan for the upcoming academic year, with classes for the first-year session of 2023-24 slated to commence from July 1. The announcement came from Vice Chancellor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal during a press conference held on Thursday afternoon at 3:30.

During the conference, Dr. Kamal disclosed that the results for the four units of the academic year have been published. Expressing

enthusiasm for the commencement of classes after a prolonged hiatus, he revealed that efforts are underway to kickstart the academic activities from January 1st, which would necessitate adjustments to the academic calendar.

Dr. Kamal emphasized the importance of adhering to DU's academic schedule and assured that necessary measures would be taken to

accommodate the proposed changes effectively.

The Vice Chancellor's announcement marks a significant development for DU students and faculty members, as it signals a return to regular academic operations following disruptions caused by the pandemic.

DU's decision to start classes from July 1st aligns with its tradition of commencing the academic year in the mid-year period. However, the proposed shift to beginning classes from January 1st reflects the institution's adaptability to evolving circumstances while prioritizing the continuity of educational activities.

As DU prepares to embark on a new academic journey, students and stakeholders eagerly anticipate further details regarding the revised academic calendar and the implementation of the proposed changes. This proactive approach by Dhaka University underscores its commitment to providing quality education and ensuring the smooth functioning of academic affairs amidst challenging times.
