Farewell reception of 10th batch and fresher’s reception of 15th batch of Department of Persian Language and Literature, Dhaka University was held at the Teacher Student Center Auditorium on Tuesday.
Department Chairman Professor Dr Mohammad Bahauddin presided over the ceremony while Professor of UGC Fakrul Alam and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Abdul Basir was the special guest and PHP Family Chairman Alhaj Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman was the guest of honor. Professor Dr KM Saiful Islam Khan gave welcome speech at the ceremony. Departmental Professor Dr Tariq Ziaur Rahman Siraji highlighted the introduction of the department. Student advisor Mohammad Ahsanul Hadi performed the programme as host. Sumaiya Akhter and Badal Mia Spoke among the new students and Runa Akhter and Riyadh Sheikh spoke among the departing students.
The guests welcomed the new students to the university and wished the departing students success in their future lives. They urged the students to be humble, competent and good citizens and serve the society and nation.
Earlier, a joyous procession was started from the foothills of Aparajeyo Bangla to the TSC with the participation of departmental teachers and students. In the second part of the programme, a pleasant cultural program was arranged with the participation of the departmental students.
